SPS Technology is a project-focussed engineering business, implementing the pioneering sandwich plate system, SPS®, across multiple industries, focussing on stadiums, arenas and maritime/off-shore applications. SPS Technology is committed to employing the application of technological understanding to solve complex challenges and honesty in all aspects of our business. SPS Technology’s Chief Executive Officer, David Glover, is a practised civil and structural engineer who has spearheaded the delivery of SPS into stadia, bridges, buildings, and the maritime and offshore sectors.
David has reshaped the core business of SPS Technology since he took the helm in XXXX. He and his team are skilled in strategic business planning, managing, and delivering international projects. He has been active in the global building industry for over forty years and brings extensive engineering and business industry knowledge to all projects.
In addition to his work with SPS Technology, David volunteers as the Technical Advisor for the Serpentine Galleries’ annual Serpentine Pavilion program and, as of 2024, will have aided the team in bringing 20 pavilions and summer houses to London’s Hyde Park.
As Group Chief Financial Officer of SPS Technology Ltd, Paul Bradford works closely with the SPS Technology management team, as well as investors, as we build a sustainable, growing, and profitable business. Paul also regularly liaises with UK and global trade bodies to discuss how SPS can be used across multiple market sectors.
Paul also works closely with SPST’s Network Partners, customers, and suppliers to ensure the smooth running of business relationships.
Having graduated from Liverpool University in Accounting, Paul combines Finance and Director expertise for fresh insight into fast-moving and changing environments, including fundraising initiatives and company reorganisations.
Our longest-serving staff member, Tim Kennedy is SPS Technology’s Director of Operations with excellent project director experience in construction and structural composites. Tim oversees the manufacturing and production of SPS products.
Tim is skilled in managing large-scale projects and producing modular components for stadiums, arenas, bridge decks, and floors. Tim has extensive expertise in engineering, construction, and contract negotiation.
Tim began his career with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Alberta, followed by a Masters Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering from Stanford University. Time also holds an MBA.
Oleg Sukovoy brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as the Head of Engineering for Maritime and Offshore at SPS Technology.
Oleg joined SPS Technology, having worked extensively in shipyards, and completed his PhD in Ship and Marine Technology at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. After completing a PhD, he became a post-doctoral research fellow in the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He researched Fire Safety Engineering and fire safety of composite material with particular attention focused on Sandwich Plate System.
Oleg is instrumental in driving advancements in engineering solutions for maritime and offshore applications at SPS Technology. His deep understanding of the complexities of maritime environments has proven invaluable in developing solutions that meet the highest industry standards.
As SPS Technology’s Head of Engineering for Civil projects, Shawn Gettler is instrumental in measuring, understanding and delivering on the unique properties of SPS. Armed with a Master of Engineering Science degree from The University of Western Ontario, Shawn has significantly advanced the industry’s understanding of structural composites. His contributions include establishing design standards and software tools for structural dynamics analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA), alongside innovations in enhancing the bond strength of steel-polyurethane composite panels.
With extensive experience across various civil applications, including those demanding resilience to extreme weather conditions, Shawn has successfully executed projects ranging from renovating the Seattle Space Needle’s rotating floor to implementing demountable SPS structures for FIFA World Cup venues.
Shawn is also Vice President of Bike Ottawa, an organisation at the heart of developing cycle mapping tools for Ottawa.
Jonny Lim is currently the Director of Business Development, Maritime & Offshore for SPS Technology, working in Singapore and has actively delivered SPS (Sandwich Plate System) since 2010.
Jonny is a scholar of ASMI (Association of Singapore Marine Industries) and graduated with a Director List Merit from Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. With more than 20 years of experience in the maritime and offshore industry, starting as a structural engineer for ship repair and then as a commercial executive officer at Keppel Shipyard, Singapore. Jonny is an associate member of RINA (Royal Institute of Naval Architects) and a member of AMPP (Association for Materials Protection and Performance).
Jonny is an SPS Cold Work expert, championing its uptake and managing the growing global interest in the technology. Teamwork and innovation have made this happen, and Jonny works closely with our Network Partner teams to ensure that we’re bringing the best offshore engineering solutions to our clients.
As Maritime & Offshore Business Manager for SPS Technology, Ian Nash works closely with a wide range of global clients, advising on class-approved composite structural steel repairs. Ian is on a quest to ensure composite structural repairs are considered standard repair options and are no longer a new technology.
A welcome face both onsite and in the boardroom, Ian has worked on projects globally with most oil majors and has taken part in several maritime research and development projects. In addition to SPS, Ian has further expertise in environmentally friendly, high-performance products that enhance vessel performance.
After studying Engineering at A level, Ian joined the Royal Navy and qualified as Lead Marine Engineer on Type 42 Destroyers. Ian specialised in Marine Engineering at Portsmouth University before beginning his journey with SPS Technology over 16 years ago.
Quinton van Tonder oversees our ongoing expansion efforts and local Network Partnership developments as Senior Vice President of SPS Technology North America’s Sports operations.
Quinton is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of stadium construction experience and has been responsible for designing and constructing numerous high-profile sports venues.
Since graduating from Pretoria Tech in Engineering, Quinton has held several senior management positions with other prominent stadium decking manufacturers in the US. He was the National Sales Director for Camatic Seating and still maintains ties with colleagues there and throughout the stadium design industry.
Bob Quick is SPS Technology North America’s Senior Vice President in Operations.
For nearly 30 years, Bob has been involved in every aspect of stadium project management, providing outstanding service to his clients through an established method to exceed owner expectations. This includes direct onsite construction of the SPS Stadia + Arenas System.
Applying skills from military and construction industry backgrounds (ask him about his paratrooper days!) and an engineering degree, Bob is dedicated to maximising efficiency for his clients’ projects and commits to excellence through specialised knowledge in the overall construction process.
Joe Quick is a Project Executive at SPS Technology. With a rich background in managing high-volume food and beverage operations, he brings over 20 years of experience in managing operational efficiency and increasing customer satisfaction.
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and is dedicated to delivering excellent project results and building strong client relationships. He is also passionate about community initiatives, having launched successful health programs like the Farmer’s Market and Meals on Wings.
As a structural engineer (P.Eng.) and finite element specialist, Rodrigo Gorga works on all SPS-related fields and leads bridge design and special application projects.
Brazilian-Canadian Rodrigo first completed his undergraduate degree in civil engineering in Brazil at the Federal University of Parana. He followed this with a Master’s in Structural Engineering at the University of Ottawa and is currently working on his PhD at the same university. His academic contributions are related to modelling concrete bridges and dams affected by alkali aggregate reaction (AAR), one of the most complex distress mechanisms affecting infrastructure worldwide. His modelling experience is not limited to AAR, though, having worked on projects related to high and low-speed dynamic impacts, explosions, ballistics, vibration, static analysis of complex linear and non-linear structural systems in the maritime, offshore, bridge, stadia, building and special application sectors.
Working from Hong Kong, Rodrigo uses his technical skills to the fullest in every SPS project, helping push the boundaries of this revolutionary product.
Keith Galway is the Operations Manager at SPS Technology, bringing over twenty years of mechanical engineering experience to oversee and lead our diverse portfolio of projects. Keith studied Mechanical Engineering at Wrexham College and later honed his skills through a rigorous apprenticeship with BABCOCK in the West Midlands.
Keith’s career, marked by significant roles within leading companies such as Rolls Royce and Bombardier, has equipped him to tackle complex challenges in high-speed rotating production equipment, chemical plants, drilling operations and power plants.
From Seaspan Careen in Vancouver to the Alaska bridge panels in Kentucky, Keith manages the operational aspects of our projects and brings a wealth of experience in Maritime, Offshore, and civil applications.
Having graduated from the University of Cincinnati with degrees in Architecture and Art History, Katherine comes to SPS Technology after having worked in base build architecture and interiors, in the office and on-site, everywhere from paper mills to museums and major financial services institutions and brings a particular understanding of building sectors to the marketing of SPS. She has previously worked in New York and London for both Gensler and Kohn Pedersen Fox.
Katherine has been deep-diving into 20 years of work by SPS Technology and discovering project after project that highlights this remarkable building material. Developing compelling marketing across multiple channels, Katherine enjoys potential clients around the world, realising the potential of SPS for their projects.
Marcus specialises in operations management, focusing on enhancing team coordination and project delivery. As Operations Project Manager, Marcus plays a key role in logistics planning and continuously improving training materials to ensure the SPS Technology team stays up-to-date with the latest processes and technologies. In this client-facing role, Marcus frequently travels to conduct vessel surveys, write inspection reports, and engage in face-to-face meetings to secure new contracts.
As Business Development Manager at SPS Technology, Farihim has been a necessary part of the company’s operational and growth strategies since his start in 2014. Initially serving as an Operations Manager, he has experience handling project operations, which include technical discussions, procurement, logistics, and the on-site supervision and successful execution of projects.
Farihim holds a Diploma in Marine Offshore Technology from Ngee Ann Polytechnic and has an extensive background in the maritime construction industry. He is particularly skilled in building and nurturing client relationships and plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of the business and that projects are executed on time and to the client’s full satisfaction.
With a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Khun brings over 14 years of experience to his role at SPS Technology. As Assistant Operations Manager in our Maritime and Offshore sector, he has been integral to numerous SPS installation projects. His expertise includes project planning, execution, and training licensees. Khun is dedicated to delivering exemplary service and using our cutting-edge technology to benefit our global clientele.
Bernardo holds a Master’s in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) in Brazil, specialising in concrete prestressed structures. Throughout his career, Bernardo has developed and supervised complex geotechnical and structural projects – from residential buildings to water and sewer treatment facilities. His work includes foundation design, retaining wall structures, tunnel excavation, slope stability, and water table management. Bernardo’s technical skills span multiple CAD and structural design platforms, with advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and TQS Unipro.
Bernardo’s international training includes an engineering fellowship at INSA Lyon in France and he holds a PTI Certification in Unbonded Post-Tensioning. He is also fluent in Portuguese, English and French, with foundational knowledge of German and Polish.
