Multiple phases of asset repairs using SPS have been undertaken including:

• Side shell reinstatement in the Forepeak Tank. Most of the side shell plates repaired are located below the FPSO’s waterline
• Using SPS allows safe and unhindered repairs without the need for underwater cofferdams or diving teams

More recently, asset repair commenced in June 2022 using a combination of hot work and SPS COLD WORK methods. Reinstatement with SPS was required at four locations totalling 320 sqm [approx. 3450 ft²] across 104 cavities. Works included asset repairs to:

• main deck areas
• cargo oil tanks
• the forward void space bulkhead and stringer plating
• side shell and bottom repair

Personnel On Board (POB) safety is the highest priority in the current works. The SPS COLD WORK solution has eliminated the fire hazards for the project. To further ensure safety, project teams transferred to an accommodation vessel at the end of the shift to facilitate POB. The project also sees teams working in tight spaces where only 2-3 personnel are allowed and welding would be prohibited.

With extensive engineering know-how and experience delivering SPS COLD WORK repairs for assets, the combined SPS Technology and ASOM team have successfully completed the most recent work. The repairs have been inspected and approved by the client and Class surveyor.
