In one of several recent premium space upgrades at Mercedes Benz Stadium, SPS floor panels and terraces created the new Gallagher Club & Lounge at Molly B’s.

Over 7260 ft² [675 m²] of Sandwich Plate System was used to update Molly B’s in Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium in the fall of 2024. The original 4,000 ft² [372 m²] double-height space was divided into a two-level premium hospitality offering. SPS underpinned the entirety of the new mezzanine level, including the floors and three new rows of terraces.

Named after Atlanta Falcon’s owner Arthur M. Blank’s mother, Molly B’s has been a fixture in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium from the outset.  The stadium’s facilities team aims to ‘innovate continuously’ and ensure the venue meets ever-changing fan expectations while keeping the familiarity they anticipate.

Sports architecture specialist Gensler was brought on board to renovate Molly B’s, with AECOM providing the structural engineering. Acknowledging that fans are ‘craving social experiences at sporting events‘, Gensler designed the new space to take advantage of its double aspect: with amazing stadium views and views towards Atlanta. Quick installation was a necessity, with the renovation taking place while the multi-use stadium was relatively quiet. The design team decided on prefabricated SPS for both the mezzanine floor and added cantilevered terraces as part of the new second level.

Significantly, the Overlook hospitality space upgrade includes terraced seating for over 150 guests, with personalised service. The stadium will benefit from increased ticket sales in the new premium space. Sandwich Plate System is the only material to deliver architectural versatility without adding excessive weight.

And notably, the project is the first completed with SPS Technology strategic partner, Design4Structures. D4S brings computer modelling and engineering prowess to projects, as well as extensive lean construction experience, supplementing the expertise of our own engineering team.

Rooted in tradition, but meeting fan expectations

Always ‘listening and responding’, the Mercedes-Benz Stadium team delivers a rolling schedule of hospitality space upgrades that cater to the fans. The Gallagher Club & Lounge at Molly B’s is just one example, and we’re proud that SPS has played a part.

Looking to the future, Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium is one of twelve venues hosting FIFA Club World Cup 2025 matches, as well as the FIFA World Cup 26. This is the first time the World Cup has been held in North America, and record-breaking attendance is expected. The chosen venues are ensuring their pitches meet the stringent field regulations and deliver the best in hospitality.

At the same time, the SPS Stadia+Arena System is delivering change in three more FIFA Club World Cup 2025 venues, including MetLife Stadium. As fans and stakeholders demand change, SPS is rising to the challenges!
