From San Diego to San Jose, SPS is helping shape California’s most iconic sports venues. Alongside our extensive partner network, our team has supported numerous projects across the Golden State. Big or small, indoor or outdoor, SPS delivers a better fan experience for these venues— keep reading to find out how!

University of San Diego Reggie Smith Softball Complex
The new Reggie Smith Softball Complex at the University of San Diego features over 2,150 ft2 (250 m²) of SPS stadia decking, which was chosen for the build due to its strength, seismic resilience and super-fast installation. Working with Design4Structures, SPST developed a coordinated 3D model that enabled prefabrication and rapid on-site assembly. All terraces, vomitory walls and aisle steps were installed in just under one week!
Tech CU Arena San Joe Barracudas
The SPS Stadia + Arenas System was selected for the stands, vomitory walls, aisle steps and stairs of the new 4,200-seat Tech CU Arena in San Jose, California. Part of a 200,000 ft² expansion to the original Solar4America Ice, the project added two new rinks, bringing the total to six! Led by DevCon Construction and installed by Quality Erectors & Construction Inc., most of the SPS arena stands were installed in just one week, contributing to a fast-track build that is now set to earn LEED Silver certification. Home to the San Jose Barracudas, this ice sports center is already a premier venue and hosted the AHL All-Star Classic in February 2024!

San Jose Earthquakes MLS Soccer Stadium
With the demand for soccer-specific stadiums growing demand across the United States, SPS Technology was proud to deliver our high-performance stadium decking for PayPal Park (formerly Avaya Stadium), home of the San Jose Earthquakes. Built on a challenging former military site beside an airport and within a seismic zone, the project required an innovative construction solution. Engineers MKA and architects 360 Architecture (now HOK) chose SPS for its strength, light weight and proven seismic resilience. The project resulted in an 18,000-seat stadium with steep rakers, exceptional sightlines and standout fan features, such as the longest bar in MLS!
San Jose State University Aquatic Centre
The SPS Stadia + Arenas decking system was selected for the new spectator seating at San Jose State University’s Aquatic Centre, part of the LEED Gold-certified Spartan Recreation and Aquatic Centre. Adjacent to the competition pool, 89m² [961 ft²] of SPS was installed with a chlorine-resistant epoxy mid-coat and pre-applied safety nosings. The seating was delivered by SPS Technology Network Partner Southern Bleacher Company Inc.
